The current President of Nnewi Automobile Manufacturers and Importers Association, Nnewi, and currently the Supervisor of Special Duties in  Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Austin -Manuel Jidiofor has on Monday, 3rd of February, 2025  applauded Governor Soludo’s efforts to restore peace and security in Anambra State, adding that he is doing well now.

Chairman of IGR Nnewi, while addressing some journalists in his residence at Okpuno-Egbu, Umudim Nnewi, revealed that the newly launched security outfit called “Agunaechemba” was transformed into AVG security outfit, which, according to him, has its Chairman in the person of the Outgoing President General of Nzuko-ora Nnewi, Hon. Maduka Atueyi.

He further revealed the State government was so mean to eradicate criminals in the State.

He encouraged youths to engage themselves in meaningful businesses and shun criminal activities that would eventually land them into trouble.

“According to the book of Deuteronomy, If anyone is found guilty of kidnapping for ransom, he will be put to death. No reason should anyone kidnap for ransom,” he quoted.

He disclosed daily, police officials have been arresting criminals. Jidiofor advice landlords to be mindful of the type of tenants they put in their apartments to avoid facing the music.

IGR Chairman revealed that some buildings where criminals are used as their hideouts have been marked out for demolition.

On revenue collection, Jidiofor said he introduced a digital revenue collection adding that he would not approve

any revenue collection until he has been convinced of a better way it would be collected.

Speaking on the forthcoming Nzuko-ora Nnewi election, Austin-Manuel Jidiofor categorically stated that the two candidates remained sound, but “they need someone conversant with the running of the Town Union.”

“We have an active running Executive Chairman, we need an active PG too so that when the policies of Nnewi North Local Government Area come, it will be dropped in the table of the PG of Nzuko-ora Nnewi, who will now tell the people of Nnewi in the language they will understand.

“We don’t need a partisan person, who will not understand the ideology of the Local Government Chairman. We don’t want someone who will sabotage us by changing gear,” he noted.

He further said no Town Union exists without the approval of the State Government, which has the power to put a caretaker if not satisfied with the outcome of the election.

Jidiofor added that Hon Jude Osumuoh has been in the system for years as a staunch member of APGA. Osumuoh, according to him, has occupied so many positions and has recorded enormous achievements, which made him qualified for the position.
