Murdered Lawyer: Police arrest inspector, four others as suspects in Imo

The Imo State police command has arrested an inspector of police and four others as suspects in connection with the murder of an Orlu-based lawyer, Barr. Chinedu Nwowu.

This is as the command assured the leadership of the NBA of due diligence in prosecuting the matter.

It would be recalled that Barr Chinedu Nwowu was shot dead along Mgbidi Road on his way back from the court.

In a statement signed by the Secretary of Owerri branch, NBA, Barr. Daniel Odiba, who was made available to newsmen,  the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, revealed this when the leadership of the NBA Owerri, led by the Chairman, Chief Chris Ihentuge, paid a visit to ascertain the present position of the unfortunate matter.

The CP. assured the NBA of thoroughness and diligence in prosecuting the matter although an inspector of police who is a kinsman of the deceased is one of the suspects.

The NBA charged the Police to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly crime are brought to justice. 

The NBA, however, assured the police of the willingness of the association to collaborate and support the investigation.

The police command highlighted that investigations have commenced earnestly. They stressed that the case file and suspects have been transferred from the Mgbidi police division to the homicide section of the state CID.
