The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has honored Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, with the prestigious “Best Commissioner of the Year 2024” award.
This recognition highlights his remarkable contributions to the council’s growth and the welfare of its members.
The award ceremony was graced by NUJ executives, including it’s Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju and Secretary Alhaji Bunmi Adigun, who commended Engr. Oludotun for his unwavering support.
Notably, his generous contribution towards the renovation of the NUJ hall, which had fallen into disrepair since its donation by former Governor Chief Olusegun Osoba in 2002, earned widespread praise.
In his acceptance speech, Engr. Oludotun expressed heartfelt gratitude, attributing his achievements to divine grace and the unwavering support of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. He also outlined key milestones of the Ministry of Forestry, including the planting of over 3 million trees, a significant effort to combat climate change and promote industrial development within the state.
The NUJ Ogun State Council reaffirmed its commitment to advancing journalism and honoring individuals who make meaningful contributions to the state. As part of these efforts, the council recently established a management committee to oversee a support fund for the families of deceased journalists.
