The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, on Thursday, 16th of January, 2025, donated N10 million to the ADON College of Health Technology in Nnewi, Anambra State.
The College, which started in the year 2022, has over 500 students with its vision of training a cadre of health workers that will go down to the rural communities and help them maintain healthy living.
Obi, while presenting the issued cheque to the management, promised to keep on supporting the institution.
He thanked the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese (Anglican Communion), Rt Rev. Ndubuisi Obi, for the great work he has been doing, disclosing that this event would have taken place last year, but the Bishop knew fully well why he didn’t make it last year.
“Though I am doing this today, we will still come back this year to support the great work our Lord Bishop is doing in the institution.
“He has shown me so many areas, he needs my support. What I am doing today is to support this noble facility at work,” he revealed.
Rt. Rev.Ndubuisi Obi, while addressing the Newsmen, thanked the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, for the wonderful gesture.
He noted that most of the people who had served them as governors and politicians at different levels, after serving them, would disappear, and you would not see them again. He further revealed that Mr Obi, since he left office, has been supportive from all angles.
“We sincerely thank you for the good heart that you have, for the beautiful spirit you have, for the way you have continued to support the work of mission in Anglican Communion and even in all other denominations. From the depth of our hearts, we say thank you so much, and we pray that the Lord will continue to bless and prosper you in all your future endeavors,” he prayed.
