SV-NED, NYSC: Lagos, Niger States Partner with Silicon Valley to Empower Youths and Boost Food Security

The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again been described as a transformative plan aimed at lifting many Nigerians out of poverty.  

HRH Queen Mother Amb Amina Temitope Labinjo Ajayi JP (Mama Diaspora), Chairman Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development SV-NED INC USA/SV-NED ENERGY LTD. Made this statement during an interview with Standard Times at the NYSC Headquarters, Yakubu Gowon House, Abuja, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.  

HRH Queen Mother Amb. Temitope highlighted that “everything has its own time,” stressing that this is Nigeria’s time to address critical challenges.

She added that the Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to tackle pressing issues, including housing deficits and food insecurity.  

She expressed optimism that with the partnership between Lagos and Niger States and SV-NED, Nigeria will soon experience significant progress in housing and agricultural development. She said, “We envision homes for everyone, abundant food to eat, and surplus to export to other countries.” 

The SV-NED implementation team, led by HRH Queen Mother Amb. Temitope and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) met at the NYSC Headquarters to outline plans for empowering corps members starting from the 2025 mobilization season.  

Speaking to Standard-Times, the Director of Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Development (SAED), Mr. Aremu Kehinde, explained that the partnership would focus on two primary projects: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion and agricultural development. According to him, the initiative will begin with 500,000 hectares of farmland in Niger State for rice production. 

Mr. Kehinde emphasized that the NYSC is committed to providing opportunities for corps members to become self-reliant.

He stated, “It is not enough to train corps members; we must also empower them to become business owners. When they leave NYSC, they should not be dependent on society or their families but instead contribute positively to the economy.”  

He encouraged Nigerians, Additionally, he urged corps members to take full advantage of NYSC’s training and empowerment programs under SAED to secure their futures.  

The collaboration between SV-NED and NYSC is expected to pave the way for thousands of Nigerian youths to realize their dreams and contribute to the nation’s development.
