As the Anambra South Senatorial District by-election draws near, a strong contender in the contest, Prince Samben Nwosu, has called on the people of Anambra South Senatorial zone to vote for a candidate with a credible personality.
Speaking with our correspondent, on Monday, 13th of January, 2025 in his country home at Ndiakwu-Otolo,
Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nwosu said in any election, what must be considered should be the candidate’s character, not the Party.
It must be noted that Samben Nwosu resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) because of unfair treatment and orchestrated embarrassment by some political merchants within the Party.
Being a dogged and workaholic person, he was able to make remarkable contributions toward the development of the Party.
Nwosu, who was a former Federal Commissioner, said he became an Ombudsman because of his doggedness and leadership style, which, according to him, must be used to make the Anambra South Senatorial zone the best zone.
Nwosu disclosed that PDP has lost him adding that he was a blessing to the party since 1998 he joined.
After working with the most outstanding figures in the Party, like Ernest Obiora, Dr Alex Ekwueme, Andy Ubah, Prince Ken Emeakayi, and Chief Olisa Metu who gave him enormous power in the party, Nwosu said he was referred to as “Chief Organizer” because of his tireless efforts in bringing the Party to a limelight.
“I consult people, I am supposed to consult. Contesting this election is my civic right; I owe nobody any explanation. If I win or lose, it is nobody’s business.
“I don’t need to shout. By the time I become a flag’ bearer, the sound of music will change. I will bring out what is in me, which is my personality” he reaffirmed.
He revealed his team of supporters pleaded with him to wait for like one week, to look deep before choosing another platform for the race.
“I have started consulting various major political parties in Nigeria, even after my resignation. I must carry my people along. We must agree together because I am going with them” he assured.
