Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have impeached Speaker, Mudasiru Obasa.

He was impeached at Monday’s plenary.

It was gathered that Obasa has been engulfed in a series of controversial circumstances in terms of financial dealings.

Obasa, a lawyer and politician, has been serving as Speaker since 2015.

According to a reliable source who seeks anonymity, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Lasbat Meranda, has been elected to replace him, while the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon Fatai Mojeed, has been elected as the Deputy Speaker.
