Ekiti LG Directors of Internal Audit celebrate colleagues’ promotion, retirement

The Directors of Internal Audit in Ekiti Local Government councils on Thursday gathered for an end-of-year 2024 ceremony where elevations and retirement of their colleagues were celebrated in grand style.
The colorful occasion held at the NULGE Multi-Purpose Hall, along Old Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti, provided a platform for the directors to connect, share experiences, admonish one another, and rejoice over colleagues’ successes.
In his welcome address at the event, the Coordinating Director of the Forum, Comrade Dare Isijola, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for His abundant mercy, which enabled the members to witness the dawn of a new year.
He commended the members for their unwavering support and cooperation, which had been instrumental in the Forum’s progress. Isijola extended warm congratulations to the members who had recently been elevated to the position of Directors of Finance, attributing their promotions to the divine handiwork of God.
He offered prayers for God’s guidance and wisdom to empower the newly promoted directors to excel in their new roles.
Comrade Isijola also paid tribute to the retired colleagues, rejoicing with them on their honorable exit from service after 35 years of meritorious service to their nation. He applauded their remarkable contributions to the accounting profession, noting that the Forum would forever remain grateful for their selfless dedication and commitment.
In their separate goodwill remarks at the event, the Head of Local Government Administration (CIA), Mr. Femi Olowolafe, the Coordinating Directors of Finance in the Ekiti State Local Governments, Pastor Segun Gold, and the Chairman Organizing Committee for the end of the year celebration, Alhaji Idris felicitated the promoted and retired officers.
Mr. Olowolafe, who was represented by Mr. Francis Ekindayo at the gathering, commended the retired officers for their individual and collective support to the Central Internal Audit office. He prayed to God to grant them sound health to enable them to enjoy their retirement.
On his part, Pastor Segun Gold urged the Forum to unite in action and purpose, emphasizing that “in unity lies progress.” He stressed the importance of humility, loyalty, and wisdom in their interactions with their superiors.
“Imbibe the spirit of allowing God to speak to you in all things, don’t seek elevation by force or personal agendas. True elevation comes as it pleases God. Instead, cultivate humility, and loyalty to your bosses, and apply wisdom in all that you do,” Gold counseled.
Alhaji Idris commended retirees for the legacy of trust, unwavering ethical standard, and collaborated spirit left behind, which have continued to inspire members in the audit community in the local government system .”They have exemplified the very essence of what it means to be a dedicated public servant, tirelessly working to ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance within the local government…”
Other members who paid glowing tributes to the exemplary qualities of their promoted and retired colleagues included Mr. Tunde Adekunle and Mr. Fajuyi Joseph. In their remarks, they were unanimous in emphasizing the importance of unity and love among members, calling for their financial commitment to the growth of the department.
They praised the retirees for their remarkable dedication, selflessness, and contributions to the organization, while also congratulating the promoted colleagues on their well-deserved elevation. They encouraged all members to emulate the sterling qualities of their celebrated colleagues, striving for excellence, teamwork, and a commitment to the collective growth and success of the department.
Alhaji Amodu R. A. and Alhaji Abolayo Jinadu, speaking on behalf of their fellow elevated colleagues and retirees, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Forum for organizing a befitting event to honor them.
The duo appealed to their colleagues to uphold a culture of respect, loyalty, and harmony, emphasizing the need to shun any form of disrespect or disloyalty towards their superiors. They encouraged their colleagues to foster an environment of unity, cooperation, and mutual support, which is essential for achieving collective success and growth.
The high point of the event was the presentation of gifts to the retirees, elevated auditors, and special guests of honor.
