Abia Gov’t seeks collaboration with private sector

The Abia State Government has made it clear that the state is ever ready to partner with the public and private sectors to industrialize the state.

The Governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti,re-stated the state’s readiness to partner with the private sector when he received in audience the Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Nigeria Plc and the Group Managing Director, Olusegun Alebiosu, at his country home Nvosi, in Abia state, on Thursday evening.

Otti who was elated to receive members of his constituency, thanked First Bank Nigeria Plc Chief Executive Officer and his team for finding time to come to Abia state to identify with one of their own.

The Governor enjoined the Bank to explore areas of collaboration between the state and the Bank and assured them of the state’s readiness to partner with the private sector on projects of mutual benefit.

The Group Managing Director of First Bank Plc, Olusegun Alebiosu, in his remarks, described Governor Otti as his Boss and Mentor, and always willing to share his wealth of knowledge and skills with those who grew under him during his banking years. 

He expressed his excitement at the level of transformation and development he saw in Umuahia, the State Capital. The Bank Chief promised to visit Aba, the Enyimba City, to witness the improvement and rapid development of the City, which he has been seeing in the news. 

He thanked Governor Otti for being a good ambassador of the Banking Industry and assured of the willingness of his Bank to partner with the State and be part of the State’s success stories.

After, the Bank Chief and his team went into a closed-door meeting with Governor Otti.
