Yuletide: Let spirit of love, generosity define our celebrations –Bakare urges Christians 

The Executive Chairperson of Irewolede Local Council Development Area LCDA, Ekiti State, Hon. (Mrs.) Dupe Bakare, has extended her heartfelt Christmas greetings to the people of Irewolede LCDA, particularly the Christian community, as they join believers worldwide to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

In her Christmas message, Hon. Bakare rejoiced with the Christian faithful, urging them to celebrate the season in moderation while extending love and support to the less privileged in their communities. 

She called on all residents of Irewolede LCDA to embody the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ in their daily lives to foster a better society for everyone.

“As we celebrate, I urge us to let the attributes of love, truth, tolerance, perseverance, and compassion, which characterized the earthly life of Jesus Christ, moderate our lifestyle and everyday activities,” she said. 

The council boss congratulated Christians on witnessing another Christmas season and advised them to use the festive period for sober reflections, spiritual renewal, and promoting peace and harmony with people of other faiths.

Hon. Bakare expressed gratitude to the staff and management of Irewolede LCDA, traditional rulers, religious and political leaders, youth groups, artisans, transport unions, and all stakeholders for their unwavering support throughout the year.

She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to implementing people-centered policies and programs aimed at bringing development to all parts of the LCDA.

“Let the spirit of love, peace, sacrifice, and generosity to the needy and less privileged, which are the hallmark of Christmas, mark our festivities,” Bakare added. 

She wished everyone a Merry Christmas, praying for the peace, joy, and goodwill of the season to extend into the New Year and beyond.
