Malagi connects home town to National grid

Charity begins at home, so days have an edge; therefore,e, for this reason, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has connected the Malagi community in the Lavun local government area of Niger State to the national grid.
The Minister commissioned the electrification project along with a mosque, an Islamiyya school, a water project, and a renovated primary school in the community on Friday.
Idris said that the projects were part of his contribution to the development of his community and to ensure that the community has the necessary amenities needed for its day-to-day activities.
“It is one of the ways I want to make an impact on the community that gave me life. My father was born in this community. I want to pave a way through education so that others can benefit and be educated.”
He said that the electrification project is the first of its kind and would ensure that every home has electricity while economic activities would be boosted.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State, thereafter commended the Minister for his contribution to the development of the community, donating over N12 million to various groups in the community, including women, youths, vigilantes, district heads, and others.
He promised to upgrade the renovated primary school to a model junior secondary school and build a market for the community emphasizing the state government’s commitment to upgrading the living of the people in the state.
