The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at providing affordable housing and fostering economic growth, received a significant boost with the partnership between the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development (SV-NED Inc USA/SV-NED Energy Ltd). The collaboration seeks to create employment opportunities for Nigerian youth and drive sustainable economic development.
At the inauguration of the Projects Implementation Committee held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja, the Chairman of SV-NED Inc USA/SV-NED Energy Ltd, HRH Queen Mother Amb. Temitope Labinjo Ajayi, popularly known as “Mama Diaspora,” described the event as a pivotal moment in the partnership.
In her address, HRH Queen Mother Ajayi noted that the inauguration marked a milestone in the collaborative efforts between NYSC and SV-NED to promote economic growth, skill development, and national unity. “The inauguration of this committee is a new chapter in our partnership,” she said. “It underscores the importance of strategic collaborations in achieving national goals as outlined in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The Projects Implementation Committee is tasked with overseeing the execution of key initiatives, including the Housing Project and the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Conversion Center.
These projects aim to address the housing deficit in Nigeria and promote cleaner energy solutions. “This committee will provide the necessary leadership to drive our joint efforts forward,” she assured.
HRH Queen Mother Ajayi expressed gratitude to the federal government, NYSC, and SV-NED stakeholders for their support. “Together, we will create opportunities for Nigerian youth and contribute to national development,” she stated.
Representing the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Y.B. Ahmed, the Director of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), Mr. Kehinde Aremu, commended SV-NED for the partnership. He highlighted its potential to drive economic growth and create massive employment opportunities for the nation’s youth, particularly NYSC members.
The partnership aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and complements the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development’s efforts to reduce Nigeria’s housing deficit.
Initiatives such as the construction of 10,112 housing units under the Renewed Hope Cities and Estate Program demonstrate the federal government’s commitment to affordable housing solutions.
The event concluded with a group photo, symbolizing the united efforts of all stakeholders to empower Nigerian youth and build a brighter economic future.
