Engr. Dr. Samuel distributes Christmas palliatives to Churches, Mosque in Afao Ekiti
Afao Ekiti witnessed a carnival-like atmosphere today as Engr. Dr. Samuel Adeniyi, son of the late Asamo of Afao Ekiti, distributed Christmas palliatives across various churches and the central mosque in the community.
The initiative, aimed at spreading joy and fostering unity during the festive season, was described as a heartfelt gesture by many in the town. Speaking to our correspondent, Engr. Dr. Adeniyi emphasized that his motivation stemmed
not from political ambitions but from a desire to honor the memory of his late father and give back to the society where he was raised.
“I am not interested in political office,” Dr. Adeniyi stated. “This is simply my way of remembering my late father and contributing to the development of Afao Ekiti and its people.”
The distribution of palliatives was led by Mr. Adesuyi Michael, who represented Engr. Dr. Adeniyi at the event. In his address to the various churches and mosques visited, Mr. Adesuyi reiterated that the gesture was driven purely by a passion for community development and had no political undertones.
“This initiative is not about politics or political aspirations,” Mr. Adesuyi said. “Engr. Dr. Adeniyi is committed to the growth and well-being of Afao Ekiti, and this is his way of giving back to the society that shaped him.”

The central mosque in Afao Ekiti also received palliatives during the event.
Although the visits came as a surprise to many of the religious institutions, the leaders and congregants warmly received the donations. Prayers were offered for Engr. Dr. Adeniyi and his family, with church leaders, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
“We were not expecting this, but it is a blessing,” one pastor remarked. “May God continue to bless Engr. Dr. Adeniyi and his family for remembering us this season.”
The event was lauded as a symbol of unity, charity, and community spirit, leaving many residents of Afao Ekiti feeling grateful and uplifted.
