Ogun SDP Assembly Candidate Steps down For Doregos

Less than 48 hours to March 18 Election, the candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Abeokuta South State Constituency 1, Hon Sowunmi Olomu, has stepped down for Hon. Oluwatobi Doregos of All Progressive Party (APC) to win the seat at Ogun State House of Assembly

Olomu, who said that he stepped down because he shares the same manifesto and vision with Doregos, expressed confidence that he would meet the yearnings and aspirations of the constituents if elected.

He disclosed this while fielding questions from newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on why he stepped down for Doregos, saying apart from sharing manifesto with him, he also met Governor Dapo Abiodun who asked him to join hands with him and APC.

Olomu, who said that he was giving his full support to the APC candidate for Abeokuta South State Constituency 1, appealed to his loyalists and followers as well as the constituents to equally give their support and votes to him in the forthcoming election.

He said that Doregos remain the only candidate among other contestants to the seat that knows and understand the challenges the people of the constituency are facing, assuring them that he would bring people-oriented projects to the constituency if he wins.

Olomu said ” I found out that we are from the same constituency and he is my brother from another mother. I look into it and also discover that we share the same manifestoes, although he is in the ruling APC and i am in opposition SDP, and with such manifesto i saw that the best thing is for me to step down for him.

“Governor Abiodun met me physical and he urged me to join hands together with him to achieve success and saluted my courage,understanding and diplomacy.

“I want to appeal to my supporters and followers to channel the confidence and courage that they have in me to Hon. Oluwatobi Doregos for development of Abeokuta state constituency. He is good man and a competent man for the job, he is the only contestant that can solve the problems of the constituency.”

“I am giving Doregos my full support to win Abeokuta South State constituency election in the state because i have sat and chat with him and see that with his manifesto he will bring the necessary change to my constituency.” he added
