The Executive Chairman of Ovia South West Local Government Council, Anthony Osarobo, has pledged to provide school uniforms for 40 primary school pupils, while urging students across the council to embrace discipline, hard work and kindness in the new academic session.

Osarobo made the pledge during the flag-off of the new school session, where he charged pupils to take their education seriously and develop the values needed to become responsible members of society.

Addressing pupils, teachers, parents and guardians, the chairman said education goes beyond passing examinations, stressing that it must also prepare children to become responsible, respectful and compassionate citizens.

“Set a goal. Work hard. Be disciplined. Be kind. And never give up on yourself,” Osarobo told the pupils.

He urged the children to listen to their teachers, respect their parents and guardians, remain determined in the face of academic challenges, and shun bullying and discrimination.

Osarobo also called on pupils to support one another and create an environment where every child feels respected and valued.

He commended teachers for their dedication to educating and shaping the younger generation, urging them to remain patient and committed to their responsibilities.

The council chairman further appealed to parents and guardians to support their children’s education by monitoring their progress, encouraging regular attendance and working closely with schools.

He said the provision of uniforms for the 40 pupils was intended to support the children and encourage greater commitment to their education.

Osarobo urged the pupils to dream big and prepare for their future, noting that education provides the foundation for achieving their aspirations.

He wished the pupils and students a successful academic session, urging them to “learn well, behave well, dream big and make us proud.”
