Former Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh has delivered a blunt assessment of the Super Eagles, praising their attacking talents while condemning the team’s overall structure as fundamentally flawed.

Speaking on his programme, Oliseh singled out Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams as Nigeria’s standout performers in European football this season.

He highlighted their impact, stating, “Let’s look at the facts. We have world-class dominance right now from Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams and Ademola Lookman.”

“It’s joy to watch these guys perform. These guys are dismantling European defences. They are our fuel at the moment, but even the best fuel is useless if the engine is broken,” he added.

Osimhen has scored 19 goals for Galatasaray S.K., Adams has netted 7 for Sevilla FC, while Lookman has registered 6 goals for Atletico Madrid.

Combined, the trio have contributed 51 goals across club and international competitions, underlining Nigeria’s attacking strength despite broader team struggles.

Oliseh acknowledged the Super Eagles’ third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, but warned that the result masks deeper systemic issues.

He stressed the need for strategic rebuilding, cautioning that several current players may not remain relevant by the 2030 World Cup cycle.

“Nigeria has world-class forwards, but the team must strengthen across all areas. The NFF needs to start preparing for the future,” Oliseh concluded.
