Operation FANSAN YANMA have attacked the camp of the notorious bandits’ leader Ado Alero in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state killing his biological son and his 65 foot soldiers in a recent operational raid.
Confirming the attack via a phone call on Sunday, the spokesperson of the Operation Fansan Yamma, Captain David Adewosi said, the incident happened last Saturday.
Captain Adewosi confirmed that there was a heavy attack on Alero’s camp last Saturday in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, resulting into the death of several bandits.
Although Captain Adewosi explained that, he could not ascertain the exact number of casualties, he stressed that many terrorists were neutralized during the attack.
“He said, I cannot speak on the number of bandits neutralized during the operation, but I can assure that, many of them lost their lives during last Saturday’s attack”.
“We will find out the number of casualties and will make it public soon”.
However, it its Facebook page, the Nigerian Armed Forces and Military News reported that, At least 65 bandits were neutralized, including Kachalla Iliya Sarki, the son of the notorious wanted kingpin Ado Allero.
The report further explained that Key leaders Killed alongside Alero’s son included top lieutenants Dogo Sule and Iliya Mai Rasha.
The report said, “Despite Ado Allero mobilizing roughly 300 motorcycle-riding fighters and reinforcements from other gangs, they were overwhelmed by military firepower and precision airstrikes”.
“There were however casualties from the security personnel as seven vigilantes fighting alongside the troops lost their lives during the intense engagement”.
The military expressed optimism that the death of Iliya Sarki—a feared commander responsible for kidnappings and rustling across three states could severely disrupt the group’s command structure.
According to the report, Ado Allero has reportedly fled to Yankuzu town while the troops were currently in pursuit to dismantle the remaining cells.
Troops were currently maintaining heightened vigilance in vulnerable communities for fear of reprisal attacks by Ado Alero.
