Veteran Yoruba actor Ganiu Nafiu has stirred controversy after suggesting Nigeria might need more time under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The actor, widely known as Alapini Osa, shared the opinion during an interview with colleague Kunle Afod.

According to him, Nigeria’s challenges require patience and long-term leadership.

He argued that the current administration should be given enough time to carry out its plans.

Osa said he believes Tinubu’s emergence as president happened for a reason.

In his view, leadership is sometimes part of a larger divine purpose.

He also suggested that solving Nigeria’s problems may take longer than the standard political tenure.

The actor therefore hinted that the president might require more time in office.

Speaking in Yoruba, he expressed confidence that Tinubu came to accomplish a mission.

“If God did not have a purpose for Nigeria through him, He would not have made him president,” he said.

He maintained that the president is already working toward fulfilling that purpose.

According to him, addressing the country’s numerous challenges may require extended leadership.

He concluded that a third term might be necessary to fully resolve Nigeria’s problems.
