Nigeria’s D’Tigress saw their early dominance at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament shattered after suffering a 77-60 defeat to South Korea in their second match.
Korea seized early control of the contest, edging the opening quarter 20-16.
Nigeria responded strongly in the second quarter, battling hard to level the period at 16-16, but Korea still went into halftime holding a four-point advantage.
The Asian side tightened their grip after the break, narrowly taking the third quarter 22-19.
Korea then completely dismantled the Nigerian champions in the final quarter, winning it 19-9 to seal the convincing victory.
D’Tigress, who earlier crushed Colombia 70-37 in their opening game, will now look to bounce back when they face the Philippines on Saturday.
