CAF has opened a disciplinary investigation following heated scenes at the end of Nigeria’s AFCON quarter-final victory over Algeria.
The continental body confirmed on Monday that the matter has been referred to its Disciplinary Board.
CAF warned that sanctions could follow if wrongdoing is established.
The flashpoint came at the end of Saturday’s match in Marrakesh.
Nigeria’s 2-0 victory, secured by goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams, sealed a semi-final berth for the Super Eagles.
