Former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has finally spoken out following his abrupt dismissal on New Year’s Day.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the Italian thanked fans and players but notably did not refer to Chelsea’s ownership.
Maresca reflected on guiding Chelsea from the Conference League qualifiers to multiple trophies, including the Conference League and Club World Cup.
Despite a poor run of league form, he described his exit as one taken with “inner peace,” insisting he leaves Chelsea “where it deserves to be.”
Chelsea have since moved on, appointing Liam Rosenior as his successor.
