Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has reignited controversy surrounding the death of late singer Mohbad, insisting he has video evidence showing how the 27-year-old artiste was allegedly killed. The actor claimed in a new video shared on social media.
Fabiyi said the footage was sent to him during an alleged extortion attempt, prompting him to notify President Bola Tinubu in a letter he wrote in May 2025. He alleged that key suspects were identified in the case file reviewed by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
According to him, instead of pursuing justice, unnamed individuals are now trying to suppress the truth and intimidate him by compelling the suspects to file petitions against him.
“They want to silence me,” he said. “They want to use the same video against you.”
His statement has stirred renewed scrutiny of the investigation into Mohbad’s death, a case that has trended repeatedly due to conflicting reports, accusations, and public mistrust.
Fabiyi maintains that the singer was murdered and that efforts are underway to cover up the circumstances surrounding his death.
Calls for transparency have resurfaced across social media, with fans urging the police to release updates on the ongoing investigation.
Despite the controversy, the authorities have not yet publicly responded to Fabiyi’s claims, leaving the public waiting for clarity on a case that refuses to fade from national attention.
