Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale, has reacted to allegations made by her mother, who accused her of abandonment despite her N150 million win.

The controversy began after Imisi’s mother shared videos on November 16, lamenting that she was still living in poor conditions and claiming her daughter had neglected her.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Imisi questioned the timing of the allegations, noting that her mother had not been actively involved in her life before her rise to fame. She said their relationship had long been strained, with years passing without communication.

Imisi insisted she had been supporting her mother financially, including sending money days before the online outburst. She added that she could not channel her prize money into the comfort of just one person when many family members depend on her.

“Before I won BBNaija, you would not call me for one or two years, so why is there a problem now?” she wrote. “God knows I have tried. I still sent you money last week and four days ago. Will I kill myself?”

She also noted that her mother was not present during the most challenging periods of her life.
