By: John Bassey, Zamfara.

Over 50 orphans have benefited from the 2025 educational and seasonal support from the Centre for Supporting Vulnerable Household, Women and Children, CESVHOC, in line with Dr. Dauda Lawal’s rescue mission Agenda at Maradun Local Government Area of the state.

This was disclosed by Comrade Suleman Aliyu, the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Information, via a statement to Journalists in Gusau, the state capital.

According to the statement, the PRO said, it was part of its ongoing efforts to put smiles on the faces of orphans, and more than fifty orphans in Maradun Local Government Area received basic school essentials such as uniforms, books, pencils, and harmattan season clothing from the Center for Supporting Vulnerable Households, Women, and Children (CESVHOC).

The gesture was part of the organization’s activities to commemorate International Orphans Day, conforming to the state of emergency declared by the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal in the educational sector of the state.

During her remarks at the ceremony, held at the residence of Sarkin Arewan Maradun, the Founder of CESVHOC, Hajiya Farida Abdulrazak Tigana, expressed that assisting orphans has become part of her life’s mission. She noted that it is a passion placed in her heart by Allah (Subhanahu Wata’ala) to ease the struggles of widows and guardians caring for orphans.

The founder of CESVHOC, who was ably represented by the Executive Director, Hajaru Sule Mada, said she always feels encouraged to identify and support orphans as well as other vulnerable groups across the state.

Hajiya Farida further revealed that her foundation, established thirteen years ago, initially began by assisting widows with start-up grants to enable them to generate income and better cater to their children’s needs.

The beneficiaries of the gesture were drawn from Maradun Town, Danbaza, and Gidan Kano, respectively.

In his remarks, Sarkin Arewan Maradun, Alhaji Bala Tambari, commended Hajiya Farida Abdulrazak Tigana for her unwavering commitment to humanitarian work across the state. He also encouraged her to maintain her efforts as a means of seeking Allah’s blessings.
