State Gov’t expends billions of Naira to develop Sokoto North, South

Sokoto North and South are benefiting from various development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and empowering residents.

The Sokoto State Government has revived major water supply initiatives, targeting metropolitan areas including Sokoto North and South, with hundreds of key boreholes set for renovation.

About road projects, billions of naira were spent, many roads were commissioned, connecting communities, connecting metropolises with local government areas, improving market access, and reducing post-harvest losses.

These projects aim to enhance living standards, promote economic growth, and address infrastructure gaps in Sokoto North and South.

In all, over 80 roads have been constructed and commissioned within the Sokoto metropolis, with 41 more under construction in Sokoto North and South.

Sokoto metropolis is getting a facelift under Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s administration, with a focus on beautification projects. Some notable initiatives include: Roundabout Rehabilitation. The government has revamped several roundabouts, including Rijiya Dorawa Roundabout, Ahmadu Bello Way Roundabout, Sama Road Roundabout, Sokoto Guest Inn Roundabout, Gidan Man Ada and Old Market Roundabout, improving traffic flow and aesthetics.

Street Beautification: Ongoing projects are transforming areas like Gawon Nama, Sahara, Maiduguri road, and Tudun Wada, with new roads and landscaping.

The council chairmen of Sokoto South and North, Ya’u Muhammad Danda, and Jamilu Umar Gosta commended the state government for the transformation and empowerment of youths in the areas.

They similarly praised the leadership of Governor Ahmad Aliyu for providing adequate facilities that enhanced social activities as well as empowering both women and orphans.
