The family of Mr. Ogbemudia Odianosen Frank has been plunged into fear and uncertainty following his abduction by armed men on the Abuja–Lokoja highway on November 6, 2025.
Mr. Frank was travelling from Abuja to Edo State when his journey was abruptly cut short by a group of heavily armed kidnappers who reportedly blocked the road, forced him out of his vehicle, and took him into the forest.
Hours after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded a ₦30 million ransom for his release.
The situation worsened when a chilling video showing the victim kneeling and surrounded by armed captors surfaced online. In the footage, the kidnappers issued a terrifying threat, warning that if the ransom was not paid promptly, they would begin selling Mr. Frank’s body parts.
Family members described the video as “heartbreaking and traumatizing,” adding that the abductors appear to be increasingly desperate.
According to relatives, the incident has left the household in emotional turmoil, with fears growing by the day as negotiations continue.
This is not the first time Mr. Frank has faced violent attacks. In 2023, he was assaulted by an armed group at his residence in the Kubwa area of Abuja. That earlier attack, family members say, forced him to live cautiously and heightened his concerns about rising insecurity in the country. The latest abduction has now reopened old wounds and intensified their anxiety.
Family sources are appealing to security agencies, including the police and local vigilante groups, to expedite efforts to locate him and secure his safe release. They also called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to address the rising wave of kidnappings and violent crime, especially along major interstate highways.
As of the time of this report, security authorities have not issued an official statement, and rescue operations are said to be ongoing.
