Nigeria’s Super Falcons star, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper Award for 2025, further cementing her place among the world’s elite shot-stoppers.
The 24-year-old joins an impressive list of nominees that includes Hannah Hampton, Ann-Katrin Berger, Cata Coll, Christiane Endler, Anna Moorhouse, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce — a lineup that reflects the finest talents in women’s football.
Nnadozie’s nomination crowns a spectacular year in which she helped her former club, Paris FC, lift the Coupe de Féminine title in May. Her outstanding reflexes and leadership between the posts were instrumental in their domestic triumph.
On the international stage, Nnadozie was equally influential as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where she kept four clean sheets and was deservedly named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
Her growing global reputation also earned her a nomination for the inaugural Female Yachine Trophy, awarded to the world’s best female goalkeeper.
In addition, Nnadozie is in contention for the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award, a title she has impressively won two years in a row and is now aiming to claim for the third consecutive time.
The recognition from FIFA marks yet another milestone in the career of a player widely regarded as one of Africa’s brightest football talents and a source of pride for Nigerian sports.
