In line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, to promote professionalism, reward diligence, and motivate personnel for enhanced service delivery, the Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, psc, on Thursday decorated newly promoted senior officers of the Command with their new ranks.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Sokoto, saw the elevation of two Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), two Superintendents of Police (SPs) to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), and three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to Superintendents of Police (SPs).
Those decorated included Area Commander Sokoto North, DCP Mani Mada Adamu; OC Medical, DCP Hamza Ali Daura; Divisional Police Officer, Kware Division, CSP Murtala Aliyu; Provost 7PMF Sokoto, CSP Shuaibu Muhammad; and OC Kwannawa Outpost, among others.
While congratulating the newly promoted officers, CP Ahmed Musa commended the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission (PSC) for their continued commitment to officers’ welfare, morale, and professional advancement within the Force.
He reminded the officers that promotion comes with higher expectations and greater responsibility, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, integrity, and exemplary service.
“Your elevation today is not just a reward for hard work but also a call to higher responsibility,” CP Musa stated. “I urge you to uphold the highest ethical standards, maintain integrity in your duties, and continue to serve with courage, discipline, and professionalism.”
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufai, said the Commissioner emphasized the importance of effective community policing, respect for human rights, and proactive crime prevention strategies to sustain peace and security across Sokoto State.
Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, DCP Mani Mada Adamu expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, the Police Service Commission, and CP Ahmed Musa for their leadership and support. He pledged that the newly promoted officers would continue to serve with renewed zeal and commitment to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.
The event was attended by members of the Command’s Management Team, senior officers, family members, and friends of the honorees, who gathered to celebrate the milestone achievements of their loved ones.
