EPL: Arsenal edge Palace as Eze scores against former club, Gunners go four points clear

Arsenal extended their Premier League lead to four points after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday, courtesy of a decisive strike from former Palace star Eberechi Eze.

It was a perfect weekend for Mikel Arteta’s men, as both Manchester City and Liverpool suffered defeats, allowing the Gunners to tighten their grip at the top of the table.

Eze, who joined Arsenal in a £60 million summer move from Palace, broke the deadlock six minutes before halftime, smashing home a volley after the visitors failed to clear Declan Rice’s free-kick. The England international refused to celebrate against his former club but his goal proved crucial.

Arsenal once again relied on their well-drilled defence, recording their 10th clean sheet in 13 matches across all competitions this season. However, the victory came with a scare as both Rice and William Saliba were forced off in the second half due to injury concerns.

The result puts Arsenal four points ahead of second-placed Bournemouth, who beat Nottingham Forest 2–0, and six points clear of fourth-placed Manchester City, while Liverpool trail by seven in sixth.
