Another El Clásico, another heartbreak for Barcelona fans. Real Madrid once again proved why they’re kings of Spain, scraping a 2–1 win at the Santiago Bernabéu that leaves their rivals licking their wounds and searching for excuses.
Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the first half with a trademark finish, a low strike that Barcelona’s defence could only admire. As usual, the Catalans found a way back when Fermín López pounced on a defensive lapse to level the game at 1–1 in the 38th minute, briefly giving their fans false hope.
But Madrid didn’t wait long to silence the noise. Jude Bellingham restored the lead before halftime with a simple tap-in after a barrage of pressure that left Barcelona’s backline in shambles.
The second half was packed with drama, including a penalty that could have sealed the win earlier. Mbappé stepped up, but Szczesny’s save offered Barcelona a lifeline, one they predictably wasted. Madrid even had another goal ruled out by VAR, just to remind everyone they didn’t need luck to win this one.
When the final whistle blew, Madrid stood tall, while Barcelona trudged off the pitch looking like a team still trying to remember what it feels like to beat their biggest rivals.
