ACU graduate ranked among world best scientists

An alumnus of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Olasehinde-Williams Godwin Oluseye, has been ranked among the top most influential scientists worldwide.

According to a list of the top two per cent scientists released by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier Data Respository, Oluseye, who is now with Istanbul Ticaret Universitesi, Turkey, was among scientists recognised from universities in the United States, China, Syngapore, Nigeria, Australia, Deutchland, Finland, Great Britain and others.

Organisers said the list highlights the world’s leading scientists who have made a substantial impact in their respective fields through their citation influence.

“For researchers, institutions, and science enthusiasts alike, this is a vital resource to recognise excellence and track cutting-edge scientific contributions,” it said.

Developed jointly by Stanford University and Elsevier, the list identifies the top two (2) per cent of scientists worldwide by standardised citation metrics.

It evaluates research impact using career-long and single-year citation data across 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields to ensure fair and comprehensive representation.

Oluseye, graduated from ACU in 2011 and was the Valedictorian of the set.

He said, “Reaching this milestone is both humbling and inspiring and I give all glory to God for His guidance and grace throughout my journey. This recognition is a call to keep advancing knowledge, uplifting others and contributing to research that benefits communities and drives sustainable change.”
