Global-Agric urges bold action to end hunger as World Marks Food Day 2025

As the world commemorates World Food Day 2025 under the theme “Water is Life, Water is Food. Leave No One Behind,” the Global Initiative for Agricultural Reform (Global-Agric) has renewed its call for urgent global action to achieve sustainable and inclusive food systems.
In his message marking the day, Musa Hakeem, President and Founder of Global-Agric, emphasized that food security remains a universal right and a measure of justice, not a privilege.
“Food is more than nourishment. It is a right, a measure of justice, and the cornerstone of human dignity,” Hakeem said. “The fight against hunger is far from over, even though we have the knowledge and technology to change the story.”
He stressed the need for increased investment in agricultural reforms, youth and women empowerment, and climate-smart innovations to build resilience and ensure equitable access to food for all.
“Agricultural transformation begins with bold policies, inclusive partnerships, and a collective resolve to make food systems work for everyone. The time to act is now,” he added.
Global-Agric reaffirmed its commitment to fostering partnerships among governments, development agencies, private sector players, and local communities to promote reforms that strengthen global food systems.
The organization continues to champion a vision of agriculture as a tool for prosperity, equity, and environmental balance, calling on all stakeholders to unite for a sustainable and food-secure future.
