The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA) is partnering with the Sokoto State Government to empower widows of deceased Customs officers and promote healthcare initiatives across the state.
Led by its National President, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, COWA aims to support these widows through economic empowerment programs and ensure that their children receive essential vaccinations.
COWA provides widows with vocational training and essential equipment such as sewing and grinding machines to help them start or sustain businesses, thereby promoting economic self-reliance.
The association actively advocates for polio and measles-rubella immunization, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding children’s health and ensuring no child is left unvaccinated.
COWA engages directly with local communities to promote healthcare awareness and provide support to vulnerable populations.
This collaboration reflects COWA’s commitment to supporting the families of Customs officers while contributing to the broader well-being of communities in Sokoto State.

COWA regards child immunization as a “moral and social responsibility” essential to securing the nation’s future. The association has also supported ongoing measles-rubella vaccination campaigns within the state.
Women’s Economic Empowerment:
By encouraging women to establish small-scale enterprises, COWA helps households improve income stability and resilience, while contributing to national growth and development.

Improved Livelihoods: Enhanced economic opportunities and healthcare access for women and children.
