The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has extended warm greetings to all residents of the FCT on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In a statement, Minister Wike highlighted the significance of the day, emphasizing the importance of reflecting on the Prophet’s teachings of peace, compassion, and unity.
Minister Wike encouraged residents to come together and uphold the values of acceptance, love, and kindness preached by the Prophet.The FCT, according to him was described as a blessed territory with a diverse and vibrant community, representing the rich cultures of Nigeria.
The Minister reiterated the FCT Administration’s (FCTA’s) commitment to providing essential infrastructure, security, and services to enhance the quality of life for residents.
Minister Wike expressed appreciation to residents for: their unwavering commitment to peace and harmony and their tireless efforts in keeping the city safe, with dedication to providing quality medical care and their contributions to the smooth functioning of the city.
He therefore urged residents to
extend a hand of friendship to neighbors and participate in programs promoting social cohesion, economic growth, environmental sustainability and
obey traffic rules, pay taxes, and engage in civic activities to contribute to the growth and progress of the FCT
He also implored residents to pray for the success of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appreciating his support for the FCTA and efforts towards the development of the nation’s capital.
Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike however wished residents a joyous and blessed Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to strive to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in their daily lives, fostering a society where everyone thrives in peace and security.
