“Tinubu Used and Dumped them” — Senator Kabiru Marafa Drops Bombshell on Live Channels TV, on Politics Today on Monday, 1st September, 2025.
In a stunning political twist, Senator Kabiru Marafa, former Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign in Zamfara State, has announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing deep-rooted injustice and marginalization.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Monday, Marafa didn’t hold back, accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of political betrayal, lopsided appointments, and neglect of Zamfara State in national affairs.
“I’m going to deduct over one million votes from President Tinubu in Zamfara,” Marafa boldly declared, signalling a major shakeup in the political landscape of the North-West.
The Senator, once a staunch Tinubu loyalist, decried what he described as “use-and-dump politics,” saying that a particular region continues to monopolize federal appointments under the Tinubu administration, while Zamfara and other areas remain sidelined — especially in the face of unrelenting insecurity.
Marafa’s exit from the APC could spell trouble for the ruling party in a region that played a critical role in its 2023 electoral victory. His bold statements of deducting over one million votes from President Tinubu’s elections in Zamfara State come 2027 are already sparking reactions across the political spectrum.
