Abducted Ondo FMC worker freed after two days in captivity

A staff member of the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Ondo State, Pastor Ayodeji Akesinro, who was abducted by gunmen, has regained his freedom.

AFRIPOST had reported that the health worker, who also serves as a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was kidnapped on Thursday evening at his home in Upenme, Owo Local Government Area.

It was gathered that security personnel and other concerned stakeholders intervened immediately after the incident, a move that eventually led to his release.

A labour leader confirmed the development on Saturday, though he noted that full details of the rescue operation were still not available.

“We are glad to announce the safe release of our colleague, Pastor (MLS) Akesinro Ayodeji, who was abducted in Owo.

“We give glory to God Almighty and sincerely appreciate the security agencies, government authorities, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers whose prayers, efforts, and support made this possible.”
