Hajiya Huriyya Lawal commences women’s economic support programme in Zamfara

The first lady of Zamfara state and the wife of Executive Governor Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal has officially flagged off a support initiative tagged Women Economic Empowerment programme under renewed hope agenda of Senator Oluremi Tinubu in partnership with Tony Elumelu foundation in Zamfara.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Hajiya Rabi’atu Yusuf, SSA Media/Press Affairs to the office of the First lady Zamfara state to Journalists in Gusau the state capital.

The statement revealed that 500 women who were true needy in Zamfara communities were carefully selected to receive N50,000 each to boost their businesses, while 18,500 women nationwide will be empowered by this support.

In her words Hajiya Lawal said, these grants are not loans. They are not debts to be repaid. They are gifts, an investment in the resilience, hard work, and unbreakable spirit of the Nigerian women.

I am deeply grateful to our Mother the First Lady of our great nation Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her motherly care, her steadfast love and dedication to women and her tireless vision of restoring dignity and hope for our esteemed women.

Her leadership reminds us that true greatness lies in how we uplift the most vulnerable among us.

I am also pleased to share that many of the beneficiaries were carefully chosen from those who truly need it.For them, this gesture is more than financial support,it is a message of comfort, healing and reassurance that they are not forgotten.

Our profound appreciation also goes to the Tony Elumelu Foundation for their remarkable N1 billion investment in Nigerian women. This is a proof that when government and the private sector join hands with passion and vision, lives are transformed and nations are rebuilt.

My beloved husband, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal “Our Rescue Governor” I say thank you for your constant support and always standing by women to protect and uplift the renewed hope of our women in the state.

In addition to the grants, each beneficiary also received a bag of rice and transportation allowance back to their respective destinations, courtesy from His Excellency, who consistently demonstrates his deep concern and commitment to the wellbeing of women in Zamfara State.

Hajiya Lawal urged the beneficiaries to use the supporting grant strictly to grow their businesses and do not share it with anyone.

She encouraged women to embrace the opportunity with renewed commitment and determination, trusting that with Allah’s help and supportive leaders, the future of Zamfara women and all Nigerian women will be bright.
