The Concerned Rabba Youths of Mokwa local governments area of Niger State have appealed to the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, to fast-track the reconstruction of the Rabba Road and Bridge earlier awarded for N7 billion as a result of the devastating Mokwa flood of May 28, 2025.
This appeal of the youths was contained in a statement issued in Rabba.
However, the youths commended Governor Bago for his swift intervention, humanitarian support, and show of leadership during the flood disaster.
The statement noted that the temporary wooden bridge constructed by the community across River Dingi has now been completely washed away by the overflow of River Niger, cutting the community off from healthcare facilities, schools, farms, markets, and neighbouring settlements.
The group therefore urged the state government to mobilize contractors to the site without delay to ease the suffering of residents and restore socio-economic activities in the area.
They prayed for Governor Bago’s continued success in his vision to transform Niger State.
