Kwara stakeholders commend Gov’t on infrastructural developmental stride

The stakeholders in Kwara state housing and urban development planning, and the academia’s in the state including the ministry of education and human capital development, has commend the kwara state government led by Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for the infrastructural developmental project that the administration is executing within the state capital.

The Commissioner for education in the state Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe made this known through is Facebook page handle where he commends the state governor for the multi-storey building school at Adeta axis, area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The commissioner note partly reads “The newly completed and magnificent Adeta Primary School, Ilorin, was formally handed over by the contractor on Thursday, 14 August 2025, to a Kwara State Government delegation”.

Prior to the official handing over, the project was one of the initiatives of KwaraLERAN project which reflects the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that children across the state have access to modern educational facilities and a conducive learning environment.

The state-of-the-art Adeta Primary School in Ilorin, currently being built by the AbdulRazaq-led administration, is poised to set a new standard for educational infrastructure in the state. The facility which consists the following classrooms and offices were: (1) Headmaster’s Office, (1) Deputy Headmaster’s Office, (1) Large Administrative Office, a Sickbay, (15) Classrooms for Pre-primary Pupils (15), Classrooms for Lower Primary (Primary 1–3), (15) Classrooms for Upper Primary (Primary 4–6), (2) Science Laboratories, (2) Large Art Rooms, (2) Spacious Staff Rooms, (1) Large Library (2) ICT Laboratories, Generous Outdoor Play Area, and Adequate Toilets and Other Supporting Facilities

Part of the note also reads “although, yet to be officially commissioned, the handover marks a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to upgrade public education infrastructure

The handing over house, the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe; the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunshola; the Special Adviser to the Kwara State Governor on Special Duties, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah; SUBEB representative, Alhaji Abdulateef Sholagberu, Special Assistanton Women Mobilisation, Jon. Monsurat Lawal and the General Manager of KWASSIP, Dr. Tejidini Abdulwasiu Olayinka as the esteemed representative of the Emir of Ilorin, Balogun Alanamu and community leaders led by Alangua Adewole, Alhaji Yakub Yusuf Adewole, Alhaji Ghali Alaaya, and Mallam Abdulmajeed Temidire (Aburo Gomina)also attend the handing over function.

In a similarly circle, the state government has also officially commenced the construction of new office facilities designed to enhance public service operations in the state capital, Ilorin.
The project which was awarded to Mapet Construction Ltd., was formally handed over during a ceremonial function attended by top government officials of the state, as the project site is adjacent to the Deputy Governor’s Office.

The Housing and Urban Development Commissioner Dr. Segun Ogunshola emphasised that the one-storey structure will provide modern office spaces, conference facilities, and other amenities to improve working conditions for civil servants.
Meanwhile the commissioner for housing specifically refuted circulating claims about building a new Government House, clarifying this as a dedicated administrative complex aimed at optimising government operations.

“The Mallam AbdulRazaq administration remains committed to creating functional work environments that enable efficient service delivery across urban and rural communities,” further noted that the Ministry has pledged a strict oversight to ensure timely completion within the 12-month timeframe, with contractor representatives, guaranteeing adherence to specifications.

The project launching witnessed participant from industry captains and government officials including Kwara State Public Procurement Agency, General Manager QS Raheem Abdulbaki, Ministry Permanent Secretary Alhaja Risikat Atinuke, and representatives from the consulting firm Baron Architecture.
