By Abba Onyekachukwu,Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has flagged off the Lot 2: Karu water supply project within the Abuja Municipal Area Council. This project is part of the FCT administration’s efforts to provide clean and potable water to residents of the FCT and its satellite towns.

This was contained in a press release from Rabi Musa Umar the Assistant Director Press Office of the Minister on Thursday.

The project involves the installation of a 194-kilometer network of water pipelines, which will directly fulfill President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promise to extend essential infrastructure, particularly clean drinking water, to FCT satellite towns. The Minister emphasized the administration’s commitment to this goal, noting that similar projects are already underway in Bwari, with plans to extend to Kuje, Gwagwalada, Kwali, and Abaji before the end of the President’s first term in office.

Minister Wike described the project as a fundamental need for the people and a priority for President Tinubu, who has already approved the necessary disbursements. The Minister’s commitment to providing clean water to FCT residents is evident in the administration’s efforts to improve the lives of citizens.

The Karu water supply project is expected to improve the lives of residents in the FCT and its satellite towns, who will have access to clean and treated water. This will reduce their reliance on boreholes and untreated water sources, promoting better health and well-being.

The flagging off of the Karu water supply project marks a significant milestone in the FCT administration’s efforts to provide clean and potable water to residents. With similar projects underway in other areas, the administration is committed to ensuring that all residents of the FCT have access to this essential service.
