The Zamfara state Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC under the leadership of Commandant Sani Mustapha, has trained 30 personnel of 8 private guard companies and issued Licenses for them to operate freely in the state.
The Commandant emphasized the importance of Licensed Private Guard Companies (LPGC) to national safety as contained in a statement issued by ASCII Umar, Mohammad M. CDPRO to Journalists in Gusau, and appreciated their efforts in collaborating with conventional security agencies through the provision of useful and credible security intelligence.
“Zamfara state is faced with security challenges; the Licensed Private Guard Companies (LPGC) become essential in a challenging environment such as this. Your hard work and dedication are highly valuable to the security architecture of our state, and I wish to reaffirm that security is a collective responsibility of all and sundry,” he said.
In furtherance, we are here to witness the passing out parade of the batch ‘C’ 2025, thirty (30) LPGCs personnel from eight (8) different companies operating in this state, who have completed their two (2) weeks basic retraining programme in the command, schemed to equip trainees with necessary finesse to better their skills and capacity as private guards.
CC Sani Mustapha urged consistency and competence from LPGC operatives in the state, compliance with establishment acts to ensure best national practice structurally, and further partake in the training and retraining processes with the state command to optimize the human capacity and productivity.
“Utilize knowledge and skills acquired through this training programme efficiently in service to your respective companies and place of primary assignment”. “CONGRATULATIONS“ the state commandant concluded.
HOD PGC, DCC ST Oyinloye encouraged Private Guard Companies (PGC) to cooperate, participate, and contribute to achieving a society lessened from security challenges.
He further stated the discontent of the state command with having poor turnout from PGC in the state, only eight (8) out of forty (40) companies responded and sent their personnel in the just concluded batch ‘C’, we need to improve to ensure optimum productivity and professionalism.
He concluded, affirming that this training and retraining scheme is to enhance the effectiveness of private guard companies and their staff. The series will continue to ensure order and proficiency through all operating PGCs in the state; the next training date shall be communicated soon.
The Chairman, Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Zamfara state chapter, represented by the Secretary, ALPSPN, Mr. Mudassir Iliyasu, De-Law Security, in his remarks appreciated NSCDC, Zamfara state command’s effort in checkmating activities of LPGC; he asserted, the command’s guidance and implementation of training and retraining system has helped immensely in improving effectiveness and functionality.
In his conclusion, he urged the LPGC to be disciplined and comply with its establishment acts and appealed to the state command to sensitize companies in the state operating with unlicensed or local security guards.
