Homosexuality; Egwuekwe Chijioke Joachim, 35-years-old in hiding, seeking for protection

In Nigeria, LGBTQ is a crime as enshrined in Nigeria constitution and this has made life of active lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders to be in danger. Security agents and the general public often arrest and hunt perceived LGBTQ individuals and prosecute them for engaging in such unlawful act.
LGBTQ individuals in Nigeria are invisible and constantly hiding to avoid being arrested but an anonymous source told our correspondent of what transpired in 2nd December, 2024 of a story of how one EGWUEKWE CHIJIOKE JOACHIM (MALE), 5.9ft tall, fair in complexion of No 8 Kingsway, By Aria Road, Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria; opened up about his sexuality and his escape from home country, Nigeria.
In his words “I am a bisexual. I grew up in a Christian home and also in a country (Nigeria) where LGBTQ is not legalized. I was abuse when I was 13 and realized I am a bisexual at 21 and since then I have been living in fear because telling my family was never an option.
In one of my sexual activities with my man-partner, we were caught by a man who alerted others and soon angry mob gathered and started beating us with deadly weapons but we managed to escape when people sighted police patrol vehicles approaching.
The act carries Death sentence as it was regarded as Taboo and sacrilege/abomination, my family members disowned me for fear of having our family house from being burnt down as tradition and culture demands.
Since then, villagers and security agencies are looking for me to use my blood for sacrifice as tradition demands also to appease the gods of the land.
Government security agents are as well looking for me for prosecution. I am so glad that I can live my life as a gay here now without the fear of being jailed in Nigeria for who I am, Homosexual.
Currently, EGWUEKWE CHIJIOKE JOACHIM’S life is in danger and will certainly face severe persecution if he returns home.
