Dr. Jennifer Chukwujekwe, Founder and CEO of the Jenniez School of African Interior Design (JSAID) and Chairperson of the African Confederation of Interior Designers, has reaffirmed her commitment to bridging the educational gap in interior design across Nigeria and Africa.
Speaking to Standard Times Nigeria on the sidelines of the Africa Housing Summit held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Dr. Chukwujekwe emphasized the unique role JSAID plays in shaping the future of interior design on the continent.
“JSAID is the only interior design school in Nigeria accredited by the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC),” she said. “We are here to bridge the gap in interior design education, empowering individuals—especially those with skill or passion—to build careers that meet international standards.”
In addition to its educational arm, JSAID also operates as a full-service interior design firm under Jenniez Designs, offering innovative, sustainable, and eco-friendly design solutions and bespoke furniture.
Dr. Chukwujekwe highlighted JSAID’s accomplishments, including the training of thousands of designers across Nigeria and Africa. “We take education seriously. Our curriculum is internationally aligned, our facilities are top-tier, and our graduates consistently deliver world-class work,” she added.
Encouraging aspiring designers and potential clients, she said, “If you have a passion for interior design, there is a place for you at JSAID. And for developers or individuals seeking professional interior design services—we are here for you. Whether building or designing, you can trust us to deliver.”
JSAID’s presence at the Africa International Housing Show showcased not only its design capabilities but also its dedication to training Africa’s next generation of professional interior designers.
The school offers a wide range of programs, including weekday, weekend, and online certification courses. Specialized short courses cover areas such as 3D visualization, interior styling, photography, animation, commercial interior design, product design, and project management.
With a mission to set the gold standard for interior design education and practice in Africa, JSAID continues to grow as a hub for design excellence and innovation.
