Endurance Ikpefua Osalase has gone into hiding following persistent death threats allegedly issued by a notorious cult group linked to the violent cult clashes that rocked parts of Edo State in July 2025, leaving several people dead and properties destroyed.
The July violence, described by residents as one of the bloodiest cult-related crises in recent years, prompted the Edo State Government to impose severe sanctions on any individual or group found to be involved in cultism, warning that offenders would face the full weight of the law.
According to family sources, the same cult group fingered in the clashes later approached Endurance, demanding that he become their financial sponsor, allegedly to help them regroup after the government crackdown disrupted their activities.
The family said Endurance firmly refused to associate with the group or support any cult-related activities, a decision that reportedly triggered repeated threats to his life, forcing him to flee Edo State in fear for his safety.
It was gathered that the group later tracked him to Lagos, where he narrowly escaped death during another attack, although his best friend was reportedly killed in the incident, deepening fears for his life and prompting him to go completely underground.
Since the Lagos attack, Endurance’s whereabouts have remained unknown, with family members expressing grave concern for his safety and calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to clamp down on cult groups whose activities, they say, continue to endanger innocent lives despite government warnings and enforcement measures.
