Abia: Operation crush nabs three suspected Fulani cattle rustlers

Following intelligence tip off from local vigilante in ohiya, Umuahia south local government of Abia state, the state Operation crush, a security outfit setup to fight crime and criminal elements in the state, has arrested three suspected Fulani cattle rustlers for rustling six cattles from Fulani herdsmen in Ohiya Umuahia south local government, Abia state on Sunday evening.
Parading the three male suspects who are between the ages of 20 to 27 years of age at the Government House Umuahia on Monday evening, the special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Navy commander Macdonald Uba, (rtd) said that Operation crush security outfit caught them while they were bargaining with their customers to sale the cows.
The special Adviser on security said that if they had not been caught, the Fulani herdsmen will think that the people of Ohiya Umuahia south community have rustled their cattles and come for a reprasal attack on the community.
He that the government is mindful of what is happening in Benue state and will not like such to happen in Abia state.
Navy commander Macdonald Uba, said that the three suspected has been profiled by the Directorate of State Security (DSS) and the Nigeria Police are on the heels of their customers to bring them to book.
The three suspects who said their names are Ali Saidu, Adamu Isa and Yakubu Mohammadu, have confessed to the crime.
Reacting after the parade of the criminals, the head of Hausa community in Abia state, Alhaji Yaro Danladi, said that they are happy that the criminals were caught in the act and said that God will continue to protect our people from the hands criminals in the state.
He said that Hausa community will continue to cooperate with the state government to rid the state of criminal elements in the state.
