The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has assured widows, orphans and less privileged of his administration’s support to live a better life.
He disclosed this on Monday when members of Military Widows’ Association (MWA) paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
The governor said: “We will continue to support the less privileged such as widows, orphans and the rest.
“There is need to support the wives of the fallen heros who gallantly fought to keep Nigeria one. Therefore, the country needs to remember their sacrifices.
“I am assuring you that your request for bus will be considered.”
Speaking, the chairperson of the association, Hajiya Asmau Umar thanked the governor for his usual support and consideration.
“We are here to express our gratitude to you as you did not forget us as a father. Sir, your contribution has made positive impact in our lives,” he said.
She noted that the governor had stood by them since he assumed office, recalling that the governor gave them a number of appointment slots.
The military widows also used the occasion to honour the governor for his recognition, generosity and support not only to them but also to other less privileged persons across the state.
