Three killed as Imo CP cracks down on Agwa Bandits

The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has deployed the Command’s Tactical Units, equipped with the available resources and intelligence, to work closely with other security agencies and local vigilantes, to track down the bandits responsible for the recent disturbances in Agwa Community on June 4, 2025. Regrettably, the incident caused three casualties and a few injuries.
This was made known through a statement made available to newsmen by the police public relations officers, PPRO, Henry Okoye.
Consequently, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations has launched a well-coordinated operation across targeted locations, including forests and suspected hideouts. This effort aims to swiftly apprehend those responsible and ensure they face justice.
In addition to the operational response, the CP has strongly condemned the violence and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a thorough investigation to apprehend the culprits.
CP Danjuma further extends his deepest condolences to the families affected and assures residents of Agwa and neighboring communities that the situation is fully under control. Enhanced security measures have been put in place to prevent any recurrence.
The Command therefore urged the public to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear, reassuring that security has been significantly strengthened.
