With few days to the much awaited National Sports festival, tagged Ogun 2025, a 100- man contingent are billed to represent Niger state in national sports Fiesta
This made known by the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Gulbin-Boka.
He explained that, a 100-man contingent, including coaches and officials will be representing Niger state at the 22nd edition of National Sports Festival (NSF) taking place in Ogun state this weekend
The Commissioner spoke when he played host to officials of the Sports Writers Association of (SWAN), who visited his office for an up-date on preparations and readiness of the state to participate in this year’s sports fiesta.
Gulbin-Boka who told the SWAN officials that Niger state will feature in 13 different sporting events also hinted that the state performed creditably well in the zonal eliminations which took place in Jos, Plateau state and is good to go for the annual sports festival.
The Commissioner told the Sports Writers, “I can confirm to you now that we have 100-man contingent, including coaches and officials representing the state in the multi-sport events”.
“Niger state will feature 13 different sports, including lawn tennis, athletic, Squash, Scrabble, Table tennis, Badminton, Taekwondo, handball and few others”, he said.
Gulbin-Boka told the SWAN officials, “As you can see, we are on making final arrangements for the contingent to start taking off any moment from now”.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner has expressed appreciation to sports philanthropists and stakeholders, including SWAN for supporting the overall growth and development of sports.
Though there were noticeable hitches in the overall preparations, Gulbin-Boka expressed optimism that Niger state would make impressive outing in the fiesta.
