Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has expressed satisfaction with the significant progress made on two critical infrastructure projects in Abuja. The projects include the 15-kilometer Inner Northern Expressway (INEX) from Ring Road III to the Idu Industrial area and the Arterial Road N20 Interchange at Jahi.
During an inspection visit on May 12, 2025, Wike highlighted the near completion of the INEX project, noting that it would be one of the projects inaugurated during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second year in office celebration. “The 15 kilometers Inner Northern Expressway (INEX) is almost completed,” Wike said. “We believe, by the special grace of God, it is one of the projects that will be inaugurated by Mr. President during his second anniversary celebration.”
Project updates include:
Inner Northern Expressway (INEX). The 15km road project is being handled by Salini and is near completion, with the bridge crossing over the rail line at Idu.
Arterial Road N20 Interchange. The project links the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) and the Northern Parkway, with contractors working day and night to meet timelines.
Wike commended the contractors’ commitment to meeting project timelines and emphasized the importance of quality work. “What is more important is the quality of the jobs,” he said. “I’m very impressed with the contractors handling the two projects… We are very happy with what they are doing.”
The Minister’s inspection visit demonstrates the government’s commitment to timely and quality project delivery, enhancing the lives of Abuja’s residents.
