We’re not competing with NNPCL –Dangote

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, says there is no rivalry between his organisation and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

This was as he reaffirmed a shared commitment to collaboration in Nigeria’s energy sector.

Dangote stated this during a courtesy visit to the Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC Ltd, Bashir Ojulari, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, where both parties pledged to deepen strategic cooperation aimed at strengthening energy security and driving national prosperity.

“There is no competition between us. We are not here to compete with the NNPC Ltd. The NNPC is part and parcel of our business, and we are also part of the NNPC.

“This is an era of co-operation between the two organisations,” Dangote said.

Africa’s richest man congratulated Ojulari and his newly appointed senior management team, describing their roles as pivotal in navigating the energy sector’s future.

“You have a monumental task ahead. But I am confident that with the capable hands at your disposal, the challenge is surmountable,” Dangote noted.

Responding, Ojulari assured the Dangote delegation of the NNPC’s readiness to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship, underscored by transparency, innovation, and healthy competition.

“We are committed to a partnership that prioritises Nigeria’s economic interests. At the NNPC Ltd, I have met a workforce that is dedicated, highly skilled, and passionate about delivering value to Nigerians,” Ojulari said.

According to him, the collaboration with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals would be pursued, particularly where it offers a clear commercial advantage for the country.

Both executives agreed to serve as relationship managers for their respective organisations, fostering a culture of sustained cooperation and strategic synergy.
